Despite all that hype and, not to mention, all those memes assuring us that being short and tiny really does equate to being cute- those of us not very gifted in the height department are bound to wish we were taller (a few more inches please, Lord). While we can’t really help how tall we are physically, there are ways to trick any onlooker into believing we’ve got a few more inches on us and here’s how.
1. High Waist

They’re in fashion and they’re very slimming. High waist pants, shorts, skirts, make your legs look longer. Thereby, cheating any onlooker into believing you are tall.
2. Vertical Stripes

Vertical stripes make the onlooker look from top to down as opposed to horizontal stripes which make one look from left to the right. Add a striped blazer, striped pants, or a striped top to any outfit (but don’t go about mixing stripes) to look taller.
3. Regular Heels

Ankle straps cut out length from your legs, hence making you look tiny. Regular heels that show off your feet are the best options for you. Opt for wedges and nude peep toe heels instead. Stilettos are a great option as well.
4. Tuck In

Longer shirts, especially the ones that go beyond your hip bone are an absolute no-no. They make your legs look tinier and hide your frame. Tuck in to look taller. Layer with crop jackets to appear slimmer as well.
5. Monochromes

Black on black, white on white and bold pinks on (you’ve guessed it) bold pinks make you look taller and slimmer. The darker the color the better. Make sure you’ve got the darker hues on the bottom and lighter hues on the top which draw one’s eyes to the upper half of your body (swap this if you’re top heavy) and make you look leaner.
6. Pencils

Pencil silhouettes will give you an example of how well pencil shapes work when it comes to slimming-out a body. So when you’re shopping for skirts, look for pencils instead of short skirts because the latter make your legs visible and show that you’ve got shorter legs. Pencil cuts show just enough to make you look taller.
7. Pouf Up

The oldest, simplest and yet a very effective tool to looking taller, simply add a pouf to your hairstyle. You could experiment with half poufs or a ponytail with a pouf on top. Grab some bobby pins, a hairspray and get to work!
8. Stiletto Kurta

If the long and straight cuts have anything to go by, you’d know that you’ve got a winner on your hands. If it isn’t the stiletto that you could pair with it, it’s the added length that makes you look taller and slimmer very effectively.
